London Planetarium
Once we entered the museum I was a bit disappointed. No high-tech multimedia displays etcetera. They had models of the planets (scaled of course, ever tried to place a planet in your living room :+) ) so you could compare their size with our planet earth. Within the museum you can find a 'cinema', where they show a movie about our solar system and the galaxy. It is all explained from the view of an alien life form travelling to our planet. Although everything is explained in a simple and easy to understand method, I think they could have made a more modern version of the movie. I got the idea it was around 15 to 20 years old. Although the entrance fees are low, I do not think it is value for money. The most modern display you will find there is about the last solar eclipse, but you will not find information from Pathfinder, the probes they send to several other planets and so on. Visit the website of the London Planetarium for more information. Unfortunately this museum is not covered by the London Pass. However, if you also plan to visit several other museums in London you might be interested in the London Pass, offering you free access to many museums and attractions in London. |
