Luke - I drove the DLR!!!

On my way home going to Stratford on the docklands light railway at All Saints station a jolly driver decided to let this boy drive the train. I looked and said to myself “I want to do that”. 

Luckily that boy got off at the next station so I quickly ran up to the front seat. The driver asked me if I wanted a go and I said “YES PLEASE”. 

What I had to do was hold down the start button for about 5 seconds then push a small lever as far as it would go. You had to push it for the whole journey the train would move. The driver let me blow the horn in a tunnel it was loud. We pulled into a station called Devons Road. 

To slow down you had to you had to pull the leaver about half way back so it would slow down then when you got to the end of the platform all the way back. This process continued for the next station until the last stop.

The people looked astonished to see the train drive in with me driving it.

That experience was great, I’d love to do that again. Would you do it?
