Priory Park Steam Fair

Once a year, during the third weekend of August , there is a Steam Fair in Priory Park. It is an authentic fun fair with a lot of attractions that are supposed to work on steam. However, when we visited, it appeared to me they were using diesel engines instead of steam engines. But hey, why complain?? :+)

Next to the mentioned attractions, there were also some other attractions, like a 'Try to get that darn ball in the bucket' booth, some shooting galleries etcetera. In other words, if you like these old fun fairs, you will love to visit this one.

Next to that we, we walked to the park itself. It dates back to the Victorian time. In the middle of the park you can still find an original Victorian fountain (as you can see on the picture). Although the park is not as big as for instance Finsbury Park and many others, I liked walking around here because it all was peaceful and quiet around there.

If you have young children and you happen to be in London in the third weekend of August, I recommend you to go to Priory Park and let them have a good time out. They will love you for it. :+)
