Travelling by Eurostar
From Holland it is quite easy to obtain a ticket for the Eurostar. Every larger train station has a travel agency where you can book your trip. Prices are currently Dfl. 250,--, you have to reserve at least 8 days in advance and you can leave from any station in Holland. If
you want to visit the U.K. from the European continent you can go by Eurostar, a
high speed passenger train. I frequently travel by Eurostar and I can assure you
that it is a very comfortable way to travel. If you go by Eurostar you should go
during daylight time because then you can admire the beautiful sceneries in
Belgium, France and England.
There
are daily services from Paris, Brussels, Lille, Calais and Ashford to London.
Next to the reasonably short travelling times, one of the other advantages is
that you arrive at Waterloo International train station in the centre of London.
Travelling
times are 3 hours for the connection from Paris to London and 2 hours and 40
minutes from Brussels to London. In the train there are two buffet coaches where
you can get quite a big variety of snacks and beverages. Several foreign
currencies are accepted, although the prices are hideous.
In
my opinion the Eurostar is one of the best ways to travel. It is a very
comfortable and quick journey at a reasonable price.
