Brick Lane

Brick Lane, in the East End of London (nearest tube station is Aldgate East on the district line) you will find dozens of Indian restaurants where you can get a wide variety of Indian dishes. If you love Indian meals, I recommend that you go to Brick Lane and try any of the restaurants here.

I have been in several Indian restaurants here in London, and because of their kindness and sweetness, makes a world of difference compared to a lot of other restaurants I have visited. They are very eager to make you feel comfortable and make your stay at the restaurant a nice evening out. Also if you are not too familiar with their dishes, they explain to you what it is that is on the menu and they will give you a good description.

In Brick Lane you will not only find restaurants, but also all kinds of Asian shops, varying from groceries to clothing shops. If you want to prepare an Indian meal yourself, you can get all the spices you need for it in Brick Lane. Interestingly enough there happens to be two very famous all-night beigel bars (excellent choice for post nightclub munchies. This area used to have a small Jewish community.).

I heard that Brick Lane is also well known for its market. I regret to say that when I was there I was not able to visit the market. So I can not give you my opinion about it.

Not too long ago, some idiot planted three bombs, Brick Lane, Brixton and Soho where minority groups live or go out. These bombs injured dozens of people, in total. Killed three people. Words can not express how much I detest this kind of action against anyone, just because of his race, creed, culture or sexual inclination.
